Abbey Road Studios has teamed up with Bravado – the world’s leading music merchandise company – to produce a new range of Abbey Road branded apparel and accessories, starting with a selection of high-quality T-shirts.
The range, is printed on American Apparel stock, and launched on www.abbeyroad.com last week, priced at £20. Bravado will subsequently offer the range to a selection of high street clothing and music retailers, including a number of additional, exclusive designs not available online. The range will be sold across the world, with particular emphasis on Europe, North America and Asia, reflecting Abbey Road’s global fanbase.
The range features three distinct collections:
1931 Range – aimed at music professionals and knowledgeable enthusiasts, this range uses imagery from the studios’ legendary recording equipment, both vintage and modern, which has been used to create classic songs and chart hits by world-famous artists ever since Abbey Road opened on 12th November 1931.
ID Range – aimed at the Abbey Road Studios fan – those among the hundreds of thousands who make a pilgrimage to visit the famous crossing and leave a message on the studios’ front wall – this range includes plain logo tees in a variety of colourways. Further designs inspired by the world-famous Grade II listed crossing, as seen on the iconic cover of The Beatles album ‘Abbey Road’, will also be available.
Kids – a small range aimed at mini engineers, producers and musicians of the future!
“We believe the history and heritage of Abbey Road along with its millions of fans from all over the globe will allow us to deliver a really world-class offering into the market place,” says David Boyne, Managing Director of Bravado UK.
Following the roll-out of the T-shirt range, Bravado will design and manufacture a selection of further apparel and accessories which will be available in 2014.
