Adidas Consortium’s latest release came as the result of a dinner meeting in Berlin where the two decided that their first co-branded project was long overdue. Based on the concept of ‘upover-downunder’ – in reference to Sneakler Freaker’s antipodean roots, the pack is based on the classic Torsion Integral, a 1992 runner that was produced for one year only before being archived for over two decades. Such a rare and revered silhouette seemed the ideal canvas for the Australian sneaker obsessives to work on, lending itself perfectly to the bold colourways of the release.
The ice green shoe was personally designed by Sneaker Freaker founder Woody, loosely based on their unofficial colour scheme. The starting point was a black midsole which can be fairly dominating, so this is splattered it with a fine mist of wintery white speckle. From there SF added layer-upon-layer of mint and cool grey, with a hit of Sneaker Freaker red in the Torsion bar, creating a deceptively simple and supremely balanced combination. The use of premium suede, nubuck and leather lead to exceptional results, with the ubiquitous dual branding of Consortium releases finishing the shoe off perfectly.
This limited release is set to drop at 00:01GMT on Saturday 21st December, for further information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call +44 1941 231 3983.
