Adidas have given one of their all time greats a well deserved makeover in tribute to classic 1980’s Graffiti and Hip Hop Culture.
The popularity of Basketball’s best performing footwear transcending the court is nothing new, with footwear championed by top level ball players having had a strong presence in street culture since the 1970’s.
The Superstar, Adidas’ first ever leather low tops became an inherent part of New York’s Graffiti and Hip Hop movement, the iconic trainer being the shoe of choice for those pioneering this ever growing subculture.
As the volume, detail and size of graffiti tags grew, so did the status of the Superstar, becoming a fundamental part of the style that defined the decade.
The Superstar 80’s ‘Back in the Day’ Pack takes this Adi classic, redesigning it with inspiration from its 1980’s heritage, with a little 2013 thrown in for good measure.
Featuring smooth Nubuck uppers, the Superstar 80’s receives a hit of colour courtesy of spotted snakeskin at the 3-Stripe and heel panel and is finished with the Consortium brand’s signature woven tongue tab.
