Friday, August 2nd saw the start of a month of Farah Fridays Live, kicking off with an opening night party in the Farah Vintage beach hut at Camden Roundhouse’s pop up Beach. Farah Fridays Live is an initiative to support & celebrate young, emerging artists at the Camden Beach Pop Up hosted by Farah Vintage and Camden Roundhouse. Camden Beach can be found on the Roundhouse’s terrace, the largest outdoor space in Camden.
Prosecco, Cider and Red Stripe flowed alongside melt-in-your-mouth food, including fresh battered cod, seafood kebabs, barbequed corn on the cob and deliciously juicy ribs. The entertainment came by exciting emerging artists such as the energetic Cynikal, Soul- folk songwriter Joel Barker, the mellow toned JJ Soulx and DJ extraordinaire Oddi.
Farah was born in 1920 in the US, but it was not until the 1970s in the UK that it reached the cult status it holds today. Known for their slim cut, sharply tailored trousers, Farah became an immediate hit with the youth of Britain. Today the Farah label still holds the heritage, quality and vigour it stood for then. Farah have partnered with the Roundhouse to host Farah Fridays, an initiative designed to inspire and support young musicians. It also ties in with their successful social media project Citizens of Farah, which celebrates individuality, creativity and style, expressed through ambassadors selected from the diverse cultures of today.
Every Friday in August Farah will host a pop up store in the Farah Beach Hut where you can purchase items from the Farah Vintage collection. The Camden Beach is held at the Roundhouse on Chalk Farm Road. The event is free entry from 12pm to 11pm everyday (Monday 5pm – 11pm) and will run until the 24th of August 2013.
