MADE.com review: Yoko Sofa Bed

Yoko sofabed

We recently received a Yoko Sofa Bed from Made.com. They asked us to give an honest and impartial review of their Yoko sofa bed so here goes.

I have owned a sofa bed in one guise or another for the last 10 yrs. and therefore would like to think I have a little experience with good and bad ones.

Assembly: Once the very helpful delivery team put the packaged sofa bed in my living room assembly took about 20 mins. Made recommend a 2 people assembly team but I was able to do it on my own.

Initial impression: It looked sturdy and felt like it was well built. My initial thoughts were that the groove indentations on the sofa where the sofa head and seating are split and the indentations on the sofa would be a little uncomfortable to sleep on. This was not the case.

Sitting/Sleeping: It is pretty comfortable to sit on (neither too soft nor too firm) and takes about the blink of an eye to turn the sofa to a bed.

I slept on the sofa bed for four days straight to give it a thorough workout. I would suggest the sofa bed was good for two to three days but then started getting a little uncomfortable. Something I would assume one would expect from all but the most high-spec sofa bed.

If I was being picky I would suggest perhaps putting a mattress topper to give it that additional comfort. I imagine it would not be great for someone 5ft 10 or over as its only 180cm long. I’m slim and 5ft 8 and it was perfect for me but I would imagine if I was 5ft 10 (or taller) and a bigger build it would have felt a little too cosy.

Available in a variety of colours (eight to be specific) and materials. Prices varying from as low as £199 to £259 the simple uncomplicated yet elegant lines of the Yoko Sofa bed lends itself to most living spaces, be it an extra sleeping space in your spare box room or an additional sofa in your living room.

Hi, would you say this would be suitable as a double bed or is it too small?

Hi Manni, No it will not be suitable for a double bed. They do have others that are bigger and maybe more suitable. See here: http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=3329&awinaffid=117397&clickref=&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.made.com%2Fbeds%2Fsofa-beds
