Autumn/Winter 2013 sees Stussy stick to what it knows best; classic streetwear. The heralded American brand have produced a collection that is universally accessible as well as tying in an ensemble of highlight pieces with confident, premium execution.
As you would expect, tees are the lynch pin of the collection with a large selection of quintessential Stussy prints from the basic logo to their instantly recognisable World Tour tees. The range of crew necks are taken to the next level with the help of New York designer Kevin Lyons. Two prints are available, both utlising uninspiring images of food and transforming them with Lyon’s signature ‘monster’ style originally found the on the walls of New York’s numerous bodegas.
Sitting rather neatly alongside the tees are a range of more premium offerings, with boldly printed shirts and heavily branded sweats working cohesively with the collection’s signature piece, the Letterman Jacket. Showcased in two colourways – Maroon and Charcoal Heather – the jacket pays homage to the classic Varsity, constructed with a wool body and contrasting grain sleeves, the piece is finished with applique branding to add a collegiate air.
Solidly rounded off with a range of caps and beanies, as well as their on-going collaborative effort with Herschel Supply Co., the collection is one of US-brand’s strongest to date.
