Uniqlo has teamed up with Pharrell Williams for Spring 2014 with a collaboration on its T-shirt line UT.
The music producer – who was nominated for an Oscar for his latest chart topping single, Happy – will also appear in the collection’s UT range Spring campaign images and television ad, with a track from his new album ‘G I R L’ providing the soundtrack.
The partnership will be a part of Uniqlo’s printed T-shirt line, called UT, which is to receive a brand overhaul and be relaunched as The New Model T. The UT range, which launched in 2003, has been produced by creative director, Japanese music producer and creator of the streetwear line A Bathing Ape Nigo.
The UT collection will feature pieces that have been designed in collaboration with I Am Other, a creative collective that serves as an umbrella for all of Pharrell Williams’ endeavours. Products will include men’s and women’s T-shirts and caps, which will be sold from mid-April across 14 countries.
